The current logistics and freight forwarding landscape

In a turbulent world that’s striving to achieve a new geopolitical balance, it’s essential to have a thorough understanding of the roles played by the various market protagonists and the business/risk management policies that underpin their behaviour. This was the focus of the presentation given by Vittorio Romiti, CEO of Italiansped, at the ADACI round table on 9 and 10 April. In his talk, he explored new pricing scenarios and purchasing strategies.

In today’s world, transport is no longer just an operational service: it is, rather, a strategic choice that seeks to achieve cost control, certainty of payment and maintenance of the company’s reputation. Choosing partners with extensive expertise in terms of both the product to be delivered and routing (to even the most ‘challenging’ destinations) is essential if these goals are to be met.

Today, the role of the international freight forwarder is increasingly that of an expert with in-depth market knowledge who helps prevent operational issues in the interests of all the involved parties. Italiansped applies this approach consistently, in keeping with the values of professionalism, reliability and continuity that also characterise ADACI’s training programs for supply chain and procurement professionals: training that ensures operators get the constant updating they need to boost efficiency and reduce risk.
