Here we are with our sixth video clip, which continues our illustration of the ITALIANSPED procedures and technologies that help streamline the shipping process.
With the inbound phase completed with goods collection, we now move on to the first part of the outbound phase.
This video clip shows how we perform packaging: the dedicated smartphone app - supplied to workers and interconnected with the company ERP – is used to select the package type, which is then filled with the materials that need delivering.
As part of a wider digitalization process, the app ensures non-duplication of manual logs and reduces the risk of error.
Certification of the logistics process occurs when the package has been inserted in the crate and the worker signs off on the app. Each phase is documented with the relative photographs.
After being filled, the crate or box is closed and the seals and ShockWatch sticker are applied (if the load type requires). Lastly comes weighing: a forklift truck or pallet jack is used to weigh the crate and the data is sent via the app to the company ERP.
